The juniors are still in speed mode at the FIS Alpine World Junior Championships Panorama 2022. Today, we could finally held the men’s downhill.

Giovanni Franzoni won the Gold medal for Italy ahead of Franjo von Allmen from the Swiss team and Luis Vogt, winning bronze for Germany.

,,At first I was very nervous today but then I approached everything with a lot of positive energy and was ready to put the hammer down.’’Giovanni Franzoni - World Junior Champion Panorama 2022

The top 3 ranked juniors came directly after each other with the starting numbers 7 to 9. After that, no skier was able to keep up with these times, although in the finish area everyone was still eagerly waiting for the Austrian Lukas Feuerstein, who, without FIS points in the downhill, finished in a respectable 11th place with the penultimate start number 56.

The racing organising committee in Panorama, all national coaches as well as the FIS officials on the mountain have done an excellent teamwork to make this downhill race possible, despite the difficult weather situation in the run-up with snowfall and changing visibility conditions.

The action continues on 5 March at the FIS Alpine World Junior Championships in Panorama (CAN) with the women's super G at 10:30 LOC (18:30 CET) and the men's super G starting at 12:00 LOC (20:00 CET).
