The overall conditions were tough as some slushy snow and wind stroke the Plaines d'Abraham in the City of Québec, where the grand finals of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup take place.

Spectacular finals with a superb strike from local Alex Harvey (for whom this marks the final race weekend of his career) in the quarterfinals as he sprinted for the save spot into the semi finals - all in front of his cheering home crowd.

The grand finals lived up when Italian's Nr 1 sprint expert Federico Pellegrino attacked the current leader Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, hoping to go for gold and add up to the overall sprint ranking. But the young Norwegian would not let anyone come in between what he had his eyes set on: winning the overall sprint World Cup. Pellegrino ends up on the second position before Sindre Bjørnstad Skar (+1.55 seconds) who wins the fight for the last podium spot on a photo finish with Russian Alexander Bolshunov (+1.57 seconds).

For the final sprint competition of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup season 2018/19, the Swedish ladies team buckled up for another impressive performance on the field.

No less than 6 athletes made it to the semi finals and 4 of them to the final heat, where Stina Nilsson, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist ensured a podium spot.
