"It was just a good weekend! I thought it was easier to win at the sports gala as it was to win here."
Wind, uphills and descents were on todays menu at the 15km race in classic style for the FIS Cross-Country men.
Just before the weekend, Iivo Niskanen was voted the "athlete of the year 2018" award in his home country of Finland. Regenerated from this success and ready for some classic action, Niskanen went all in and took the lead right from the start. He managed to get a +15.9 second margin to the second ranked Russian Alexander Bolshunov who currently holds the second place of the World Cup overall standing. The podium gets completed by Norwegian Didrik Tønseth who lost 46.4 seconds to Niskanen.
