The World Cup season is about to start in its traditional fashion up North in Ruka/Kuusamo, Finland. Early November snow ensured the organizers of the first period of the World Cup calendar smooth preparation of the events.

With the Ruka Triple, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup season 2019/20 will kick off with Sprint races in Classic technique on Friday, 29th November, followed by a 10/15km in Classic on Saturday, 30th November as well as a Pursuit race in Free technique on Sunday, 1st December.

"Winter has arrived early and the beginning of the season has been really great this year. We have had minus degrees and quite a bit snowfalls for several weeks and therefore we can offer very good course conditions this year. The stadium and the whole 5km course is already fully covered with 40cm of artificial snow and about 30cm of natural snow."Annmari Viljanmaa
