The city of Madona in Latvia hosted the second FIS Roller Skiing World 2020 from 28th to 30th August. The ongoing restrictions due to Covid-19 caused a smaller number of participating nations but had no influence on a successful event held on site.
The organizer ensured a safe sport environment regulated according to the national health authorities suggestions and restrictions. The sport aspect did not get affected by it and the starter field enjoyed a cheering crowd along the race course.
Fridays Sprint competitions were driven by Latvian Kitija Auzina and Merle Richter from Germany at the Junior womens category. Both ensured a victory during the 200m Supersprint. The men's competition was equally won by a Latvian and German with Niks Saulitis in the Junior category and Nico Rieckhoff in the elite category.

Saturday awaited with a mass start womens 15km and mens 20km. Rain was the constant interactor during the junior as well as the elite competitions which changed the conditions for the athletes. Nevertheless, thanks to a great organisation in the field and along the race course, the competitions went injury-free and left room for strategic moments throughout the race.
