Simi Hamilton ends Cross-Country World Cup career

In 2010, Simi Hamilton was named to the US Ski Team and took part in his first ever World Cup race on 6th February. Nine days later, the now 33 year-old entered the stage of the Olympic Winter Games at Whistler Olympic Park in Canada. 8 Olympic races, 15 World Championship competitions and 144 World Cup starts later, Simi announced his retirement just before the season end in Engadin.
Highlights from his career as a professional athlete include four Sprint podiums in the World Cup, including one victory. Simi’s fair and friendly attitude within the World Cup family will be missed. With his professional enthusiasm, he helped clear the stage for generations of athletes to come and set a great example as a role model.
