After a difficult start into the last season, 29 year-old Swede Evelina Settlin decided to take a break from the Cross-Country racing world. At the Swedish Nationals, she announced the conclusion of the break, that it feels time to end her professional career completely.

For 10 years, Evelina has been part of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and challenged her Sprinter colleagues on course. From the FIS Nordic Junior and U23 World Ski Championships in Erzurum (TUR) in 2012, she brought home the Sprint Silver medal as well as the Relay Silver medal which she won together Sofia Henriksson, Jonna Sundling and Stina Nilsson.

Also in the World Cup, Evelina became a valuable Team member and brought Sweden World Cup podium spots in Teamsprint and Relay competitions.

After exactly 90 World Cup competitions, the career of Evelina comes to an end and the FIS Family wishes her all the very best for whatever waits around the next corner.

“I never decided to become a skier, but from the day I started competing, it is what I was and this path was right to me. It feels just as obvious now that I have decided that it is time to end this chapter. Results, yes there are both good and bad, but it's the journey, the experiences and everything and everyone around me I will carry with me.”
