It will be a winter season without any competitions for Linn Svahn, the Sprint superstar from Sweden. Linn announced that she is putting all her energy into healing and rehabilitating her operated shoulder.

An injury that she endured during last seasons Sprint in Ulricehamn needed a surgery this September. The operation that went well, but Linn still requires time and rehabilitation.

Sports can mean high peaks and deep valleys. Linn Svahn recently describes it as a roller coaster: "Right now I am in the deepest valley of my career so far, as I have been aware since my operation in September that the Olympics are not relevant to me this season." A message that she calmly wanted to land in and accept. Now she is ready to share how she feels about the winter.

"It is tough and heavy to see goals and dreams disappear, and not be able to do what you want most of all. But at the same time, I am driven by challenges, and this may be the challenge of my life."Linn Svahn

The month of November is usually all about skiing, preparation and anticipation before the start of the World Cup season. "This year it is about healing and taking small steps forward to become whole again. But I am driven by challenges and somehow I still find this process inspiring," says Linn Svahn.

She is determined in her journey back. "I can not describe in words how much I look forward to being able to compete again, but most of all to being well," answers Linn on her perspectives.

This was not an easy decision to take but over all, health comes first. Therefore, the FIS Cross-Country family wishes Linn a full recovery. We are very much looking forward to have you with us on the World Cup again.
