The 37-year-old Norwegian punctuated her storybook career with her 15th Olympic medal and her eighth gold medal Sunday by winning the women’s 30km mass start to close out the PyeongChang Games. Jessica Diggins and Kikkan Randall gave Team USA a long-awaited gold medal in the Ladies' TSP while Finland's Iivo Niskanen stormed to win the 50 km. classical. Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo joined forces with Martin J. Sundby to claim his third gold medal in the Men's TSP. Cross-country skiing originated in Fennoscandian countries in prehistoric times. It was still widely practiced in the 19th century as a way of moving from place to place in winter. As a sport, cross-country skiing is one of the most difficult endurance sports, as its motions use every major muscle group.
