Bernhard Flaschberger, one of the fastest skiers on the Nordic Combined circuit has decided to end his career. Despite stellar performances on the track, the 22-year-old from Salzburg was struggling with his performances on the jumping hill, which was also the final reason why the 2016 Junior World Champion decided to end his career.

“The decision was not easy for me because I always loved the sport. But I have always struggled on the hill and I was not able to improve my level of performance there, which is necessary to get to a top level in the World Cup. This is why I chose to end my career. I’d like to thank all partners, sponsors, people who accompanied me on the way and the Austrian Ski Federation for their support during my career. I am looking forward to a new chapter in life now.”
