Despite the fact that the country has only one jumping hill in Vorokhta which is still jumpable, the Ukrainians also host their national Nordic Combined championship. For many years in these competitions Viktor Pasichnyk was unbeaten but this time he lost to his younger teammate Dmytro Mazurchuk. Oleksandr Shumbarets claimed the third. In a team event with three starters per team, Mazurchuk and Pasychnik also claimed the top step of the podium for their team of Ternopil Oblast.

The undisputed winner of both individual starts in Almaty was Chingiz Rakparov - the only Nordic Combined athlete in Kazakhstan with considerable experience in international competitions. On the normal hill, his final advantage over Danil Glukhov was more than one and a half minutes at the finish line, and on a large hill, he won against Glukhov again, this time with more than two and a half minutes. The bronze medals went to Eldar Orusaev and Vyacheslav Bochkarev.
