Italy’s Daniela Dejori was the winner of the first Nordic Combined competition in the OPA Alpencup Women’s Summer Tour which took part in Klingenthal.

Germany’s Jenny Nowak lead the way on the jumping hill with a jump of 76 metres and a point total of 110.9 points had her start eight seconds ahead of runner-up Silva Verbic from Slovenia. Her teammate Nika Prevc, who had won the ski jumping event the previous day, was third and started her race just one second later.

Daniela Dejori also had a good jump of 76.5 metres but slightly lower judges scores gave her a point total of 107.3 and an eleven-second delay at the start of the 3 km running race. 30 women were on start for the cross-run but Dejori really put her foot down already in the first lap and overtook all three athletes running in front of her.

In the end, Dejori celebrated a clear victory with a 45.5-second advantage over teammate Annika Sieff, who also showed strong running skills in her race and worked her way to the front from position five. German Cindy Haasch advanced to the third position and took the remaining podium rank with a delay of one minute and 6 seconds at the finish line. Austria’s Sigrun Kleinrath was beaten by 0.2 seconds, Maria Gerboth claimed rank five.

Jumping winner and winner of the special ski jumping event of the day, Jenny Nowak, ended up on the sixth position, Lisa Hirner was seventh, Ema Volavsek eighth, Nika Prevcz ninth and Emilia Görlich made the most of her race and the second-best running time to advance to the tenth position from start rank 18.
