Sigrun Kleinrath has been the winner of two Alpencup competitions following her fifth place at the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup premiere for women last Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, Kleinrath competed in Seefeld and set two wins ahead of Slovenia’s Ema Volavsek and Jenny Nowak (GER).

On Saturday, the 16-year-old Austrian claimed the jumping win with 99 metres and started her race 13 seconds ahead of teammate Annalena Slamik (93 metres). Volavsek hit the biggest jump of the day with 102.5 metres and followed three seconds later, while Jenny Nowak also had 99 metres to show for and a delay of 23 seconds.

While Volavsek, who had in turn finished her World Cup debut on rank 16 in Ramsau, was able to reduce the gap to Kleinrath to 5.6 seconds at the finish line, she could not endanger the 16-year-old’s start-finish win in 11:02.8 seconds. Jenny Nowak had the second-fastest time and halved her gap of 23 seconds to 12.1 seconds at the finish line, enough to claim a secure third position.

Slamik finally finished fourth, the rest of the Top Ten positions went to Germans Cindy Haasch, Maria Gerboth, Sophia Maurus, Emily Schneider and Marie Nähring. Lena Prinoth from Italy was tenth.
