Deutschlandpokal takes place in Berchtesgaden

Many of the German Ski Federations young athletes took place in a joint Ski Jumping - Nordic Combined Deutschlandpokal weekend in Berchtesgaden last weekend.

Competitions were offered in the categories Students 15, Youth 16, and 17, Women and Men. The ski jumping portions were carried out with joint fields of Ski Jumpers and Nordic Combined athletes, with the Nordic Combined athletes following up with their respective cross-country races on the 5 km distance (7.5 km for men Y16 and 10 km Men/Y17 on Saturday and 2.5 km (5km for men Y16, 17 and 19/Men).

With competitions on schedule Saturday and Sunday, many different winners were crowned:

S 15 Men: Kenny Schönfelder won ahead of Johann Unger and Eric Stephan on Saturday and also topped Sunday’s result list, this time ahead of Eric Stephan and Hannes Wenzel.

J 16 Women: Magdalena Burger took the win ahead of Klara Lebelt and Trine Göpfert on Saturday, with the same result in an Ind. Gundersen 2.5 km on Sunday.

J 16 Men: In the J 16 category, the two victories were split between Benedikt Gräber and Mika Wunderlich, who respectively claimed the second places when they did not win. On Saturday, Ryan Horn completed the podium after the 7.5 km race, while Alois Wegmann claimed third after 5 km on Sunday.

J 17 Women: Here, Cindy Haasch took the win with Emilia Görlich and Marie Nähring on positions two and three over the 5 km distance on Saturday, while the shorter 2.5 km distance on Sunday saw Cindy Haasch repeating her victory ahead of Marie Nähring and Clara Fischer.

J 17 Men: Tristan Sommerfeldt won Saturday’s 10 km event ahead of Hannes Gehring and Pepe Schula. In the 5 km event on Sunday, Pepe Schula climbed to the top spot of the podium ahead of Tistan Sommerfeldt and Simon Kosak.

Women: Four athletes were on start in the senior women’s category and reigning FIS Junior World Ski Champion Jenny Nowak set a clear wins ahead of Maria Gerboth (+0:35) and Svenja Würth (+1:16) on the 5 km distance. The shorter 2.5 km race aided newly-minted Nordic Combined athlete Würth to capture the second place, +24.3 seconds behind Nowak on Sunday, Maria Gerboth was third.

J 19/ Men: Eight athletes were on start in the men’s category. On Saturday, Jakob Fischer took the win 19.1 seconds ahead of Pirmin Maier and 21.5 seconds ahead of Simon Mach. Jan Andersen took the top spot of the podium on Sunday, beating Fischer by only 0.1 seconds. 0.2 seconds after Andersen, Simon Mach crossed the finish line to take another third, while Pirmin Maier was 0.1 second off the podium.
