Peder Sandell has called it quits as head coach for the Norwegian men's Nordic Combined national team.

Sandell has been involved in various coaching roles for Nordic Combined the last five seasons and in the last two years, he has been the head coach. After Sandell took over the managerial responsibility on the coaching side, Norway has been the world's best Nordic Combined nation.

“I want to thank Peder for a brilliant job with us, and it will not be easy to replace a capacity like him”, says Sports Director Ivar Stuan.

The season run-up to the Olympics will starts already on 1 May and so Stuan is now deep in the process of finding Sandell’s successor.

“We have the Olympics in Beijing next season where we have goals to win Olympic gold. Then we have the World Championships in Planica 2023 and then our home World Championships in Trondheim 2025. We want to find the a long-term coaching solution until the planned national team selection on Wednesday 5 May”, says sports manager Stuan.

Sandell already has a new job lined up. This summer he will start as Head of Culture & Engagement at the Sector Alarm Group in Oslo.
