The first day of the digital online training camp for Nordic Combined women, organised by the Lillehammer Olympic Legacy Sports Centre, in cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Association is behind us.

Almost 60 participating athletes and coaches from 17 nations were welcomed by camp organisers Per Erik Mæhlum, Jan Christian Bjørn and Linda Svensrud and enjoyed a first evening of lectures with interesting input:

Tara Geraghty-Moats, the most successful woman in Nordic Combined talked about her background, career and training. In the separate coaches’ session, FIS Race Director Lasse Ottesen spoke about the development of Women’s Nordic Combined and Norwegian Sports Director Ivar Stuan explained how the Norwegian team has worked to develop their female athletes.

A first common physical session, a roller-ski interval exercise was presented and is to be conducted individually by participants today. The best photos from this exercise can be entered to win prizes.

But also for the upcoming days, an attractive programme has been compiled for the participants, which includes scientists, nutritionists, FIS Women’s Equipment Controller Kerstin Löscher and Nordic Combined top athletes Jens and Einar Lurås Oftebro, as well as Mikko Kokslien and Akito Watabe.
