Russia’s Ernest Yahin and Vitalii Ivanov sidelined for the season

A double injury shock for the Russian Nordic Combined team: both, team leader Ernest Yahin and Vitalii Ivanov have sustained knee ligament injuries during a training camp in Planica, which took place before the World Cup weekend in Val di Fiemme.

Yahin made a long jump on the large hill and Ivanov followed suit with a long jump on the normal hill. Both athletes didn’t have any crashes but the long distances jumped caused relapses of old injuries.

Ivanov had just returned from an ACL tear during the Russian national championships in the autumn of 2019.
