After the first medal decision at the Olympic Winter Games 2022 in Beijing (CHN) last week, where Vinzenz Geiger secured the gold medal for Germany, the competitions on the large hill are now coming up.

On the HS 140 in the Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Center, the last two Olympic Nordic Combined competitions 2022 will be held with the Individual Gundersen on Tuesday and the team competition on Thursday.

After the start of top favorite Jarl Magnus Riiber from Norway is still questionable due to a Covid infection, the German team finally took Terence Weber out of the competition squad after he had to remain in the quarantine hotel for over a week.

Therefore, Manuel Faißt traveled to China and will represent Germany in the coming competitions. Whether his team mate Eric Frenzel will be able to start is still open.

Meanwhile, Estonia had good news to report. Kristjan Ilves was able to leave his isolation after 11 days and took part in the official training yesterday.

Together with normal hill winner Vinzenz Geiger, Ilves was considered a medal candidate before the start of the Games. To what extent the quarantine has affected his performances will be seen in tomorrow's competition.

In Austria, all eyes remain on Johannes Lamparter, who finished fourth in his first Olympic competition while teammate Lukas Greiderer took the bronze medal.

Due to their strong team performance, Austria can also be expected to score in the team competition on Thursday. Alongside them, Germany, Norway, with silver medalist Joergen Graabak, and Finland, with strong skier Ilkka Herola, will also be fighting for the podium spots at the Zhangjiakou National Cross-Country Skiing Centre.
