Overall Continental Cup leader Terence Weber is the winner of the second Individual Gundersen in Lahti (FIN), after the men’s competition day started with a cancellation.

Due to the unstable wind conditions the Trial Round and later also Ski Jumping competition had to be cancelled.

Instead, the results of the Provisional Competition Round were used, which Terence Weber won on Friday afternoon.

With the longest jump of the day on 128 meters (132.5 pts), the German was in the lead and therefore the first to go into the 10km cross-country race.

Rank 2 after jumping also went to Germany with Wendelin Thannheimer (124 m, 124 pts), who started the race 34 seconds behind his teammate.

3rd place was also taken by a German, with Pirmin Maier who reached 120 meters and collected 114.9 pts, 1:10min behind Weber.

The German managed a confident start-finish victory, while Thannheimer was also able to defend his position without any problems and finished the 10km race in second place, 56.3 seconds behind his teammate.

Meanwhile, the fight for third place was much more exciting.

While Maier was unable to keep up with the pace of his pursuers and ended up falling back to 16th place, David Mach (10th after Ski Jumping) and Fabio Obermeyr showed a brilliant race to catch up.

The Austrian ignited the turbo and raced from 22nd place to the podium, with delivering the fastest time of 27:10 minutes.

He ended up third, 1:37 behind Weber, while Mach (+1:49) took his second fourth place of the weekend, narrowly missing the podium again.
