Otepää (EST): Mixed Team victory for Norway

Team Norway is the winner of the Mixed Team event in Otepää (EST).

In sunny but cold conditions at the HS97 team Germany showed a strong team performance on the hill. 
Jenny Nowak (93 m), Manuel Faisst (91 m), Julian Schmid (95.5 m) and Nathalie Armbruster (87.5 m) collected a total of 463.7 points and were in the lead after the Ski Jumping round.

Rank 2 was taken by team Norway, after Ida Marie Hagen had some problems with her suit before the start.

Hagen (90 m), Joergen Graabak (92.5 m), Jens Luraas Oftebro (92.5 m) and Gyda Westvold Hansen (93 m) had only a small distance of 6 seconds to the leaders from Germany with 457.3 points.

Team Austria placed third with 450.7 points, so that Annalena Slamik (87.5 m), Lukas Greiderer (91 m), Franz-Josef Rehrl (96.5 m) and Lisa Hirner (88.5 m) went into the cross-country race 13 seconds after Germany.

The 15 kilometer race (5 – 2.5 – 2.5 – 5km) took place in the Tehvandi stadium in the afternoon.

Oftebro caught up to Faisst already during the first lap, being only 0.3 sec behind. He managed to take the lead after 3.7 km, but the German styed close behind him so that the first exchange after 5km took place at the same time between for the two leading nations. 
Hagen, who is the currently the Best Skier in the womens ranking, showed her strength on the cross-country track and increased the distance to Nowak constantly and handed over to Westvold Hansen with a 18.1 sec lead. 
Armbruster wasn’t able to reduce the gap to leaders and fell further back, while Norway did their last exchange 23.2 sec ahead.

Joergen Graabak confidently defended the lead and finished the race for the Norwegians in first place after 36:19.6 min.

Julian Schmid secured the second place for Germany 18.2 seconds behind, ahead of Lukas Greiderer and Team Austria in third place (+1:30.6 min).
