Johannes Lamparter is the winner of the 10th Nordic Combined TRIPLE in Seefeld (AUT).

The Austrian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the final day of the TRIPLE 2023.

In bright sunshine the Austrian jumped the furthest distance of the day with 108.5 meters (152.3 pts) in the morning at the Toni Seelos HS 109 and took the lead. Therefore, he was the first one to start into the 12.5 km final TRIPLE race.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Vinzenz Geiger from Germany, who landed at 107.5 meters (148.3 pts) and went into the race 16 seconds after Lamparter.

Best Jumper Ryota Yamamoto (105.5 mts, 146.7 pts) placed third, 22 seconds behind the leader.

Since Geiger owns the red bib, and second Best Skier Jens Luraas Oftebro (4th, +38 sec), were not far behind, a tight fight for the TRIPLE victory could be expected.

Lamparter put in a fantastic race at the front, completing the 12.5km alone and unaided.

With Geiger just behind him, he picked up the pace from the start so the German was still 17 seconds behind him after 2.5km.

Meanwhile, a chasing group formed with Oftebro, Stefan Rettenegger, Julian Schmid and Franz-Josef Rehrl, who were 38 seconds behind Lamparter after 5km.

In the third lap it became clear that Geiger could not catch up with the Austrian and was finally caught up by the other pursuers after 7.5 km.

Lamparter was in the lead going into the last lap, while the other two podium spots were within reach for six athletes at that point.

While Lamparter made history and was the first Austrian to win the TRIPLE in Seefeld, Julian Schmid (+16.5 sec) and Jens Luraas Oftebro (+17.4 sec) were able to break away from the other pursuers and, after an exciting sprint to the finish, took second and third place.

With his victory, Johannes Lamparter takes over the lead in the Overall World Cup from Jarl Magnus Riiber, so that he will start in a yellow bib in Oberstdorf.
