Ryota Yamamoto is the winner of today’s PCR in Oberwiesenthal (GER).

The mens first PCR of the FIS Summer Grand Prix 2022 took place on the Fichtelbergschanze in Oberwiesenthal this evening.

In atmospheric floodlight, 50 athletes from 13 nations were on start for the PCR after two training rounds.

Ryota Yamamoto jumped the furthest distance of the day with 103 meters. With 149.8 points the Japanese took the lead and secured the victory of the Provisional Competition round.
The second rank was taken by Austrian Franz-Josef Rehrl, with 100.5 meters and 142 points.
His team colleague Martin Fritz (100.5 mts, 131.9 pts), took rank three.
If the PCR will have to be used for Sundays competition, Yamamoto will have a 31 second lead over Rehrl for the rollerski race up the Fichtelberg.

The Norwegian team around last year’s Overall World Cup winner Jarl Magnus Riiber was not on start, but will join this year’s Grand Prix in Tschaggungs (AUT).
Also, Overall World Cup second Johannes Lamparter is not competing for Austria in Oberwiesenthal, but joins his team for the events in Oberstdorf (GER) and Tschagguns.
