COC: Nowak shines on home soil

Jenny Nowak celebrated the first Continental Cup victory of her career in Klingenthal (GER) today.

Like yesterday, the German was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Vogtlandschanze HS85 in Mühlleiten.
Nowak reached the furthest distance of the day with 78 meters with a total of 114.3 points and was therefore the first one to start into the 5km cross-country race in the afternoon.

Rank 2 was taken by yesterday’s winner Joanna Kil from Poland with 73.5 meters and 98.9 points. She went into the race 1:02 min after the leader, closely followed by German Amelie Steiner (73.5 m, 98.4 pts), who placed third, 1:04 min behind.

Nowak, who lives in Klingenthal and therefore competed on home soil, confidently brought the big lead to the finish and took her first COC victory.

Kil (+55.5 sec) was also able to defend her position and came second ahead of Sophia Maurus (+1:14.6 min) from Germany, who completed the podium in third place.
