Ida Marie Hagen is the winner of the women’s second Individual Gundersen competition in Otepää (EST), after a strong catch-up race.

Mari Leinan Lund was in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Tehvandi HS97 this morning.

Under a cloudy sky, the Norwegian jumped 91 meters (120.6 pts) and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km race at the Tehvandi cross-country stadium in the afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Gyda Westvold Hansen, who landed at 91 meters as well, collecting 116.3 points and went into the course 17 seconds after her team mate.

Fellow Norwegian Ida Marie Hagen reached the furthest distance of the day with 93 meters (109.1 pts) and placed 46 seconds behind the leader.

Lund defended her lead confidently, keeping her pursuers at a safe distance, with extending the lead over Hansen to 20.7 sec after 2.5 km.
Meanwhile, Hagen reduced the distance to her team mate second by second, catching up to her in the last lap. On the 3.7 km mark she overtook her and gave her all on the last uphill to close the gap to Lund on the front.

The two Norwegians entered the home stretch together, showing an exciting sprint to the finish line. In the end, Hagen narrowly prevailed over Lund (+1.4 sec), while Hansen (+42.2 sec) completed another Norwegian podium sweep on third place.
