Jarl Magnus Riiber won the Schwarzwaldpokal in Schonach (GER) for the second time today.

The Norwegian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Langenwaldschanze HS100 this morning.

In bright sunshine, the Overall World Cup leader reached the furthest distance of the day with 108 meters (157.9 pts) and took the lead. Therefore, he was the first one to start into the 10 km cross-country race in the after afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Thomas Rettenegger from Austria, who jumped 102 meters (155.7 pts) and went into the course only 9 seconds after Riiber.

His brother Stefan Rettenegger (98.5 mts, 146.5 pts) placed third, 46 seconds behind the leader.

Riiber showed another fantastic race and continuously extended his lead.

After 4km, the Norwegian was already 32.7 seconds ahead of Thomas Rettenegger, whose brother Stefan (+48.3 seconds) also shortened the gap.

With Joergen Graabak (+1:20.2 min), Eero Hirvonen (+1:20.6 min), Martin Fritz (+1:20.9 min), Kristjan Ilves (+1:21.4 min), Lukas Greiderer (+1:21.9 min) , Terence Weber (+1:22.7 min) and Franz-Josef Rehrl (+1:23.1 min) meanwhile a huge field of pursuers rushed up to challenge the leaders for their podium positions.

Riiber was unimpressed and ran a very strong race with a lead of 1:02.3 minutes after 8km.

Thomas Rettenegger (+1:13.3 min) could not follow his brother Stefan's high pace and fell behind, while Hirvonen (+1:19.8 min), Graabak (+1:20.4 min), Ilves (+1:20.8 min) and Greiderer (+1:21.4 min) went into the last lap together.

In front of the cheering crowd, Riiber celebrated his 64th World Cup victory and won the Schwarzwaldpokal for the second time in his career.

Stefan Rettenegger (+1:13.8 min) secured second place for Austria, while Graabak (+1:15.0 min) narrowly beat Hirvonen (+1:15.8 min) in an exciting finish sprint and took third place.

With his victory, Riiber not only extended his lead in the WIRmachenDRUCK German Trophy, but also in the Overall World Cup.
