SGP: Volavsek wins final race and secures Overall victory

Ema Volavsek is the winner of the last competition in Villach (AUT) and Overall ranking of the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix 2023.

Svenja Würth from Germany was in the lead after the women’s final Grand Prix Ski Jumping round, after reaching 87 meters and a total of 111.2 points. She was therefore the first one to start into the 5km roller ski race in the Villacher Alpenarena this noon.

The furthest distance of the day was reached by Volavsek with 91.5 meters (110.7 pts) who placed second and started the race only 2 seconds after Würth.

Nathalie Armbruster (88.5 mts, 105.5 pts) from Germany placed third, 23 seconds behind the leader.

The Slovenia caught the German already on the first lap, leading with 17 seconds after 2.5km and brought the victory into the finish in the end. 
In the final lap, Würth was overtaken by her strong skiing team mate Armbruster, who secured the second place 35.4 sec after Volavsek, while Würth (+45.1 sec) reached her first ever Nordic Combined podium.

With 370 points Volavsek is also the overall winner of the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix 2023.
