Lamy Chappuis takes wins in his last nationals

Jason Lamy Chappuis sure knows how to go out with a bang. The French superstar finally ended his career with a victory, taking the win in the French national championships held in Prémanon, his ninth Nordic Combined national title in total.

Lamy Chappuis convinced with a perfect competition, showing the best jump of the jumping event in the morning and timed his cross-country race perfectly to reach the finish line in the stadium that was named after him 19.47 seconds ahead of runner-up Antoine Gerard. Maxime Laheurte reached position three by finishing 29.54 seconds after Lamy Chappuis.

Hugo Buffard was the fastest man on the track once more, improving a 19th position in the jumping event to the sixth rank in total. The junior title went to Edgar Vallet, who finished seventh.

Lamy Chappuis improved his national title count to twelve (Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined) in total on the following day, when he competed in the ski jumping team event with his cousin Ronan, Laurent Muhlethaler and Edgar Vallet. Team Jura won with 1009.3 points and left only ranks two and three for the Teams Vosges I and Savoie I.
