The ski jumpers had to face problems due to the corona virus even after the early end of the Ski Jumping World Cup in Norway.
After the cancellation on Thursday evening in Trondheim, the Polish team found out that there's no way back home to Poland, at least not an easy one.
All flights between Norway and Poland were canceled. The team had no idea when it would be possible to fly home again.

And so officials of the Polish Ski Association contacted the Polish ministry of sports in order to find a solution.A little while the phone of Adam Malysz, Ski Jumping legend and team manager of the Polish national team, rang.
None other than Polish president Andrzej Duda made sure that Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, Piotr Zyla, and Co. could return home from Trondheim to Cracow on Friday.

"President Duda called me and took charge of the matter personally. The president can't make a decision about such a flight along, the entire Polish government had to get together. This happened Thursday evening and it took about six hours until we got the green light and the plane of the government could leave Cracow for Trondheim", Adam Malysz explained.

The plane was then ready for departure in Trondheim on Friday and so the Polish ski jumpers, the coaching staff and some members of the media could return home to Poland.

The government plane landed safely in Cracow 2:30 hours later at 1 pm CET. And the season also ended for the Polish ski jumpers, ten days earlier than originally planned.

Dziękujemy bardzo Panie Prezydencie, świetna robota!
