Slovenian Nika Kriznar leading the qualification for the women's World Cup in Germany

Slovenian Nika Kriznar was leader at the first qualification for the women's World Cup in Obersdorf (GER) on Friday. Nika Kriznar posted a jump of 128 m on the HS137 hill and came in ahead of the Austrian duo Chiara Hoelzl (127.5 m) and Eva Pinkelnig (125.5 m).

The 19-year-old won the World Cup qualification for her first time whereas the Austrian ski jumpers followed up on where they left off last weekend in Rasnov (ROU) securing the 2-3 finish in the first qualification in Germany. Once again they are likely to be the favorites for the weekend.

The fourth place went to Japanese Sara Takanashi ahead of Lidiia Iakovleva, the best Russian today. Ema Klinec, Kriznar’s teammate finished sixth.

Local heros Katharina Althaus came in ninth position, Juliane Seyfarth 14th, whereas the first German woman was Svenja Wuerth finishing seventh.

Marita Kramer completed the numbers of Austrian athtletes in top 10 today.

After getting the yellow bib back last Sunday, Olympic champion and World Cup leader Maren Lundby of Norway could not finish on top with 21 points behind. She came in 16th position.

The first competition in Obersdorf starts on Saturday at 3.30 pm CET, the second competition follows on Sunday, also at 3.30 pm CET (qualification: 2 pm CET).
