Due to the cancellations of the World Cups in Norway and Russia, the two overall World Cup champions were crowned earlier than planned.

Women Overall World Cup 2019/20
Men Overall World Cup 2019/20

We spoke to both of them after it became official:

Maren Lundby, congratulations on the overall win. How was the season for you?
There's been ups and downs and all of a sudden it's over. Of course, I'm very happy that I was able to achieve my goal of winning the crystal globe again. But I think I need some time to let it sink in, it happened so fast now. I'm really happy, I just haven't thought about it much yet.

You won the overall World Cup three times in a row now.
Yes, this was my big goal. So far only Adam Malysz did it and he's a legend. I'm very happy that I could do it as well now.

Was it a bit strange to win this title without having the final competitions?
It's a very unique situation, but it's happening all over the world and we are not the only ones affected by that. It's not how it was supposed to be but I'll still get the crystal globe. It feels a bit strange, but I'm happy.

Stefan Kraft, congratulations on winning the overall World Cup.
Thank you. It was a little bit weird today, to win it like this. I was ready to jump today and claim the title here in Trondheim. It was a great season for me.

Is it as nice as if you would have gotten the trophy in Vikersund?
No, of course, it's not that emotional. But getting the crystal globe at home, with friends and family present, will also be great, I think. It would have been nice to have the ceremony in Vikersund, it was a tough fight with Karl Geiger and I think we would have deserved it.

How were the last couple of days for you?
Of course, it wasn't that much fun without spectators, we like jumping in front of a big crowd. That's what makes our sport great. Other than that we had no problems because the Raw Air was well organized. We didn't focus on the Corona-virus, we were just focused on showing good jumps. It's sad that it's over right now.
