Timi Zajc and Ema Klinec claimed the wins in the Slovenian national championships in Kranj on Saturday.

Timi Zajc, who was also the best Slovene in the overall ranking of the FIS Grand Prix 2019 in third, won with 108 m and 99 m and 243.1 points just ahead of Anze Lanisek, who presented himself strong again about a week after he took the win in the GP-final in Klingenthal. In Kranj, Lanisek posted jumps of 109 m and 98.5 m that earned him a total of 241.5 points. The third place went to Tilen Bartol with 105.5 m and 98 m and 235.2 points.

"I'm happy about this win, it was an exciting battle with Anze. We both showed that we are in a very good shape. My jumps have been on a high level during the entire summer, only around the competitions in Zakopane my shape was not that good. Right now I'm jumping very well again and I have to remain in that same shape until the winter", Timi Zajc is quoted on sloski.si.

Ema Klinec took the win in the women's event with 106.5 m and 100.5 m and 239.1 points, followed by Ursa Bogataj (104 m and 101 m; 237.0 points) and Nika Kriznar (105.5 m and 97 m; 231.0 points).

"I'm very satisfied. I also know that I still have to work on my telemark. The competition was not easy, who needed a really good take-off because of the strong tailwind, otherwise, you had a problem", said Ema Klinec.

In the mixed team competition, SSK Ilirija (Spela Rogelj, Ursa Bogataj, Lovro Kos, Matija Vidic) defended the title. The second and third place went to SSK Ziri (Nika Kriznar, Ema Klinec, Marcel Striznar, Rok Oblak) and SSK Ilirija II (Ema Volavsek, Pia Mazi, Maksim Bartolj, Timotej Jeglic).
