Also on day 2 of the Continental Cup in Brotterode (GER), the victory went to a ski jumper of Poland. After Stefan Hula was the best on Saturday evening, his teammate Tomasz Pilch had a reason to celebrate on Sunday.

The 20-year-old laid the foundation for this success with a jump of 115 m in the first round, 111 m in the final and 272.2 points were then enough for Tomasz Pilch to secure his third win in the Continental Cup. The last time the jumper from Wisla won was in December 2017 in Ruka (FIN).

After his third place yesterday, Junshiro Kobayashi could show yet another strong performance today. The Japanese was able to improve his result by one place and came in second with 111.5 m and 109.5 m and 268.8 points.

Tomasz Pilch's teammate Maciej Kot finished third with 112.5 m and 110.5 m and 267.1 points. Pilch and Kot were not the only Polish athletes among the best today, with Stefan Hula (6th) and Aleksander Zniszczol (9th) two more Polish ski jumpers were in the Top 10 today.

The second-placed in yesterday's competition, Markus Schiffner, was the best Austrian again in fourth. Sander Vossan Eriksen was, like on Saturday, again the best of the Norwegians, after finishing in fourth yesterday, he was fifth today. Peter Resinger of Austria was seventh, followed by Bendik Jakobsen Heggli of Norway in eighth. Lovro Kos (10th) represented Slovenia in the Top 10 today.

Markus Schiffner remains the clear overall leader of the COC with 669 points, his two teammates Ulrich Wohlgenannt (461 points) and Stefan Rainer (411 points) follow in second and third.
After a short break, the Continental Cup will continue on March 13th and 14th with two competitions in Zakopane (POL).
