Halvor Egner Granerud is one big step closer to achieving his goal of winning this season's overall World Cup title. The Norwegian won the second competition in Zakopane (POL) on Sunday ahead of Slovenia's Anze Lanisek and Robert Johansson (NOR).

After his win on Sunday, Halvor Egner Granerud is well on his way to winning the overall World Cup title this season. With his 11th World Cup win, Granerud now also equaled the record of Roar Ljoekelsoey for the most World Cup wins of a Norwegian ski jumper.

"I'm so happy about this win. I had some problems on this hill, also in the second round yesterday. I really had to dig deep to perform well here and so I'm super happy that I managed to show two really good jumps today. It's been really hard and then it feels extra special to succeed. At the moment it looks as if I will win the overall World Cup, but it depends on how many competitions are left this season", said the by far best ski jumper this winter.

Anze Lanisek and Robert Johansson came in second and third again today, both finished in the exact same places four weeks ago in Zakopane. "It was tight today, just like yesterday. I'm trying to get a win, but Halvor is really strong. We are all trying our best to beat him, maybe I can do that at the World Championships, that would be perfect. But there's still some time left until then, I'll stay calm and focus on my technique", said Lanisek, who still has to wait for his first World Cup win.

For Robert Johansson, today's third place was yet another confirmation of his currently great shape. He said after the competition: "I'm satisfied with my third place today. I made a mistake in the first round when I waited a bit too much in the flight over the knoll, then I'm getting behind my skis and I got too much pressure. My second jump was a lot better and it's great for me to end the weekend with such a good jump and I'm very satisfied now."

Close behind Johansson, his teammate Marius Lindivk finished fourth. It was a great day for the Norwegians, who had two more athletes among the best this afternoon with Daniel Andre Tande in seventh and Johann Andre Forfang in eleventh.
Stefan Kraft confirmed his positive trend in fifth, Daniel Huber was tenth. The best of the Polish team was Dawid Kubacki in sixth, the winner of yesterday's competition, Ryoyu Kobayashi, came in ninth, right behind his teammate Keiichi Sato.
Once again it was not a good day for the German team. Markus Eisenbichler was their best in 12th, Karl Geiger was 22nd, Martin Hamann 24th, and Pius Paschke 30th.

With 1542 points, Halvor Egner Granerud has a clear lead in the overall World Cup, Markus Eisenbichler is second with 1017 points, Kamil Stoch follows in third (864 points).
The World Cup continues next weekend in Rasnov (ROU) for the men and the women. The men will have one individual and one mixed team competition there.
