Due to a positive Covid-19 test of one ski jumper, the complete Polish team was excluded from the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf before the start of the qualification.

Klemens Muranka had been tested positive at the mandatory PCR test of the organizing committee on Sunday, December 27. His teammates were negative in the test, but belong to contact group 1, which means that they either had direct face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes or were together in a closed room or even vehicle for more than 30 minutes.

"We regret this decision very much, but for the protection of all other athletes, our health department had no other choice. By decision of the authority, we can not let the Polish team start in Oberstdorf," says Florian Stern, Secretary General at the opening event in Oberstdorf.

The extent of the quarantine measures for the Polish ski jumpers and support staff has not yet been decided. "Here we are still waiting for further tests. Provided that these are negative, there is a chance that Poland can rejoin the tournament," said Florian Stern.

This is an official communication of the 4HT.
