Thomas Diethart: New job in Germany

Former 4-Hills-Tournament champion Thomas Diethart, who ended his career in 2018 after various serious crashes, will become a member of the coaching staff of the German Ski Association (DSV).

The 28-year-old Austrian will work with young jumpers (born 2004 - 2006) of the training group IIb together with the coaches Christoph Klumpp, Andy Jacob, and Christian Hofreiter. "I'm looking forward to supporting young guys on their way to the top with my know-how", Diethart is quoted on sport1.de.

In the training group Ia of head coach Stefan Horngacher and his assistants Jens Deimel, Andreas Wank, Christian Heim and Bernhard Metzler for the 2020/21 season are Karl Geiger, second in the overall World Cup last winter, Markus Eisenbichler, Stephan Leyhe, Richard Freitag, Andreas Wellinger, Severin Freund, David Siegel, Pius Paschke, and Constantin Schmid.

Moritz Baer, Martin Hamann, Felix Hoffmann, Justin Lisso, Adrian Sell, Kilian Maerkl, Philipp Raimund, Luca Roth, Tim Fuchs, Justin Nietzel, and Paul Winter were named to the training group Ib, coached by Christian Winkler, Andreas Mitter, and Peter Rohwein.

Katharina Althaus, Juliane Seyfarth, Ramona Straub, Carina Vogt, Luisa Goerlich, and Selina Freitag are on the women's training group Ia of head coach Andreas Bauer, the training group Ib will consist of Anna Rupprecht, Gianina Ernst, Pauline Hessler, and Agnes Reisch.
