Second change this week in the women's Ski Jumping World Cup calendar. After the World Cup planned for Hinterzarten was moved to Titisee-Neustadt, the three competitions in Zao (JPN) were now canceled.

The competitions scheduled on January 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2021 can not take place in the city, about 300 km north of Tokyo.

"The organizing committee in Zao and the Japanese Ski Association were looking for possibilities to carry out the competitions during these difficult times. We regret that we had to come to the conclusion that the event has to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are very sorry that we had to make this decision, but we had no other choice", the Japanese Ski Association explained in an official statement to the International Ski Federation FIS.

The FIS is now looking for another organizer to host the three competitions in January. Possible alternatives are Sapporo, where the women are competing a week earlier, or Norway.
