COC-M: Michael Hayboeck wins in Lahti

With Michael Hayboeck, an Austrian ski jumper stood on top of the podium also on the second day of the Continental Cup in Lahti (FIN).
A day after his 31st birthday, Michael Hayboeck, who came in 13th in the first competition in Lahti on Saturday, showed jumps of 122 m and 130 m on the HS 130 large hill and took his second win this winter with a total score of 275.7 points.
"Of course the competition today was much better than yesterday for me. It was a bit difficult because of the wind conditions but I'm really happy that I could improve my jumping. Now I'll go Ski Flying, so I need some self-confidence and the second round today was really important for me. I had to be patient also due to the back surgery in the fall, now I'm going back to the World Cup and the Ski Flying World Championships and I'm really looking forward to that", Michael Hayboeck said after his win.
After the first half of the competition, Poland's Andrzej Stekala was in the lead with 126 m, with 120.5 m in the final round he could not defend the position on top, but with 266.5 points he still came in on the very good second place.
Only 0.2 points behind Stekala, the winner of Saturday's competition, Thomas Lackner of Austria, finished third today with 128 m and 122 m. Lackner's teammate Francisco Moerth could already celebrate a career-best in sixth yesterday and today he did even better and came in fourth.
Maciej Kot of Poland, third on Saturday, achieved yet another strong result in fifth, behind him, Slovenia's Patrik Vitez came in sixth, a career-best in the COC for him. Just like on Saturday, the two best German jumpers, this time Philipp Raimund and Moritz Baer, were seventh and eighth.
The places nine and ten went to Austria with Stefan Rainer and Clemens Leitner.
After the weekend in Lahti, Norway's Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng leads the overall ranking with 878 points, Ulrich Wohlgenannt and Thomas Lackner are tied for second (both 798 points).
The Continental Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Zakopane (POL).
