2018 Olympic champion and two-time World Champion (Seefeld 2019 and Oberstdorf 2021) Maren Lundby of Norway has announced that she will not be competing in the entire 2021/22 season.

Lundby, who is one of the outstanding athletes of recent years with 30 World Cup wins, was already taking part in any of the competitions this summer and decided to participate in the Norwegian version of the TV show "Dancing with the stars".

Maren Lundby explains her decision to not compete in the upcoming winter with the fact that her body has changed she is not willing to sacrifice everything. "Ski Jumping is very demanding, the bodyweight is a part of it. My body has changed recently and that's why I don't want to sacrifice it all in order to be at a top level in Beijing", Lundby said.
She said it was a very difficult decision for her to make, "but it's simply not working for the next season." Her health is her priority, the 27-year-old explained to Norwegian TV station NRK.
