Marita Kramer wins ahead of two Slovenes

Marita Kramer won the FIS Women's Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer (NOR) on Thursday evening. The overall World Cup leader came in narrowly ahead of Nika Kriznar and Ursa Bogataj of Slovenia. Yesterday's winner Sara Takanashi of Japan finished fourth.
After the win of Stefan Kraft, Austria could celebrate the second victory within just three hours in Lillehammer. Marita Kramer won just one point ahead of Nika Kriznar of Slovenia. "It was a really close competition today, I'm very happy that I could come out on top after finishing fourth yesterday. The past weeks haven't been easy for me and I'm extremely happy to be back", said Kramer, who had to miss the Olympic Games in Beijing due to a Covid-Infection. Kramer now leads the overall World Cup with 1145 points, followed by Kriznar (901 points) and Ursa Bogataj (821 points).
Second-placed Nika Kriznar once again showed a top performance and leads the overall ranking of the RAW AIR after six jump 19.8 points ahead of her teammate Ursa Bogataj and Sara Takanashi, who is 30.1 points behind Kriznar.
"Today I'm satisfied with my performance, my landing were also better than yesterday, even if the jumps were not perfect technically. But I'm satisfied with the result, especially because I could stand on the podium together with Ursa", Kriznar said.
Behind Ursa Bogataj, the two Japanese Sara Takanashi and Yuki Ito came in fourth and fifth. Thea Minyan Bjoerseth was the best Norwegian in sixth, Katharina Althaus caem in 10th after her Covid-infection. Juliane Seyfarth, who was also sidelined due to Covid, was disqualified because her suit was not compliant to the rules.
The World Cup continues for the women tomorrow with the mixed team competition on the Holmenkollen in Oslo, two individual competitions follow on Saturday and Sunday, both count for the RAW AIR overall ranking.
