The team of Slovenia won the team competition at the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund (NOR). Domen Prevc, Peter Prevc, Timi Zajc, and Anze Lanisek dominated the competition in good conditions right from the start and the took a clear win, which was never in jeopardy, ahead of Germany and Norway.

The first-ever team win of Slovenia at Ski Flying World Championships was a demonstration of strength that couldn't have been any more impressive. In the end, Slovenia had a lead of 128 points over the second-ranked German team. "There's no secret why we Slovenes are so strong in Ski Flying, it has just been our World Championships here in Vikersund. It went really well for us right from the start. In the World Cup you can see how often the results change in team competitions, a different team wins in almost every event. Here this weekend we were the best", Peter Prevc said.
Slovenia won silver in the team events at the 2018 and 2012 Ski Flying World Championships. Today Slovenia followed the Norwegians, who won gold at the last three World Championships.

Team Germany, Team Slovenia, Team Norway

While the victory of Slovenia was never in question, it was a tough fight for the second and third place in which the German team (Severin Freund, Andreas Wellinger, Markus Eisenbichler, Karl Geiger) came out on top after an outstanding jump of Karl Geiger (238 m). The third place went to the team of Norway.

"My second jump was really amazing, it was by far my best jump this weekend and I could show it at exactly the right time. I'm just more than happy right now that I could show such a jump in the team event because it's so good for the entire team to win silver here today. More wasn't possible today, so this feels like gold to us", Geiger said after today's competition.

The Norwegians (Johann Andre Forfang, Daniel Andre Tande, Halvor Egner Granerud, Marius Lindvik) were fighting for bronze against Austria until the very last jump. Individual World Champion Marius Lindvik was better than Stefan Kraft and secured the bronze medal for the hosts.

Austria finished fourth, 6.9 points behind Norway. The teams of Poland, Japan, and Finland ame in fifth, sixth, and seventh.

The Ski Jumping World Cup continues next weekend with two Ski Flying competitions in Oberstdorf (GER), before the World Cup will conclude in Planica (SLO) with three competitions (2 x individual and 1 x team).
