Canadian Abigail Strate, bronze medalist (Mixed Team) from the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, won both FIS Women COC competitions in Lillehammer (NOR) this weekend.

On Saturday, the 21-year-old had won on the HS 98-meter hill of Lillehammer ahead of Silje Opseth from Norway and Frida Westman from Sweden, on Sunday Strate managed to win ahead of Westmann and Katharina Althaus from Germany.

While Strate's victory on Saturday was relatively close (5.5 points ahead of Opseth), the Canadian claimed a clear victory on Sunday with a lead of 29 points over Westmann. The best distance and highest score in both rounds ensured the superior victory and a real demonstration of power by Strate.

Silje Opseth took the fourth place on Sunday after finishing second on Saturday, while Katharina Althaus, who had taken fourth place on Saturday, was delighted with third place on Sunday.
Besides Althaus, Selina Freitag (well recovered after her fall in training in Courchevel), Luisa Goerlich, and Pauline Hessler also placed well on Sunday, finishing 5th, 7th, and 9th respectively.

The next competitions for the women are scheduled in two weeks with the Grand Prix in Rasnov. There, one can be especially curious about Abigail Strate, who jumped outstandingly in Lillehammer.

In the COC overall ranking Strate leads with 200 of 200 possible points ahead of Westmann (140 points) and Opseth (130 points), Katharina Althaus is on rank 4 with 110 points.
