Klinec unbeatable on Sunday in Oslo

Slovenia's Ema Klinec extended her lead in the RAW AIR overall ranking with her victory on Sunday at Holmenkollen in Oslo. Klinec won with an outstanding final jump on 134.5 meters ahead of previous day's winner Chiara Kreuzer from Austria and Norway's Anna Odine Stroem.
 
"Finally I managed a really good jump today. I already had a great shape during the whole winter, but I didn't manage the best jumps in the crucial moments. Today it finally worked out", Klinec was happy after her success. Klinec had been in 5th place after the first round, but with her final jump she was able to take the lead in the field. For Klinec it is only the second World Cup victory of her career.

Chiara Kreuzer confirmed her victory from the previous day with second place, Anna Odine Stroem remains the toughest chaser of Klinec in the fight for the RAW AIR overall ranking.
 
Selina Freitag and Katharina Althaus provided a strong team result for the German ski jumpers in fourth and fifth place. Althaus fell after her final jump to 133 meters but remained uninjured.

Canadian Abigail Strate collected another top result with 6th place. Superstar Maren Lundby finished in 7th place, just ahead of Slovenia's Nika Kriznar.

"I hope to stay in the top 15 of the RAW AIR overall ranking to be able to compete in ski flying in Vikersund," explained Lundby who is currently in a promising 7th place. Only the top 15 women in the RAW AIR overall ranking will be eligible to compete in the first ever women's ski flying event in Vikersund (NOR) next weekend.
 
In the RAW AIR overall ranking Ema Klinec continues to lead, the 2021 World Champion (Oberstdorf) now leads with 9.4 points ahead of Anna Odine Stroem and 16.9 points ahead of Kreuzer.
 
The leader in the overall World Cup, Eva Pinkelnig from Austria, finished 12th today. In the overall World Cup Pinkelnig now leads with 1528 points ahead of Katharina Althaus who has 1292 points on her account.
 
For the women it goes still in the evening to the second station of the RAW AIR 2023: Lillehammer. After a good two-hour bus trip, the next competition for the women is already scheduled for tomorrow: at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, the qualification will begin, followed by the first of two competitions for the women in Lillehammer at 4:30 p.m.
