At the team ski jumping event in Zakopane (Poland), the Austrian team (Daniel Tschofenig, Michael Hayboeck, Stefan Kraft and Manuel Fettner) beat the hosts from Poland by a tiny margin of one point. Final jumper Stefan Kraft made it really exciting with the last jump of the competition. The German team came third in the sold-out venue in Zakopane.

"That was a really cool competition for us, the atmosphere in Zakopane is always extremely good. The fight with the teams from Poland and Germany was really hard today and we are overjoyed that we managed to win in the end," Stefan Kraft was happy for the team from Austria. The success was already the second team success for Austria today after the women's success in Zao.

For Poland Dawid Kubacki stated: "I think we showed our fighter's heart in the competition today. It was a really hard fight that we fought until the last second. It's a pity that it wasn't quite enough in the end, but that's how it is in sport and you have to accept that. Second place is a good result for us, we will enjoy it and I think our coaches will confirm that we did a good job. It was also great to feel that the old Zakopane atmosphere was back at the hill, it is always a very special experience here in Zakopane." With Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Piotr Zyla and Pawel Wasek had formed the Polish team.

Karl Geiger was especially happy about the third place for the German team after the unsuccessful competitions of the past weeks: "The atmosphere was incredible, we are overjoyed with our third place after things really didn't go well for us in the past weeks. We didn't really get to spend much time on the podium, so our joy is even greater today," said Geiger.
Markus Eisenbichler, Andreas Wellinger and Philipp Raimund were in the German team together with Geiger.

The teams from Slovenia and Norway had to be satisfied with places 4 and 5. Finland, USA and Czech Republic completed the final result in places 6-8.

On Sunday, the individual competition will follow in Zakopane, starting at 16:00 hrs.
