Alexander Stoeckl extends contract in Norway

As the newspaper "Aftenposten" reports, Austrian Alexander Stoeckl extended his contract, that was valid until after next season, for four more years and will, therefore, remain head coach of the Norwegian Ski Jumping national team until 2022.

"I had a long conversation with the sporting director. There I realized that the Ski Jumping committee wanted me to continue. I have the feeling that we have built a great team of athletes and coaches. We have a lot of experience and there has been a continuous development. We are on the right track, but we are not there yet", Alexander Stoeckl is quoted on aftenposten.no.

Before the decision to continue working with the Norwegian Ski Association, the Austrian, who has been coaching the team since 2011, also thought about ending his job in Norway. "I started wondering whether I was redundant. When the system works well and there are other coaches who can take over this position right away, maybe it's time to do something else", said Alexander Stoeckl, whose motivation is still high. "I still think it's an interesting task to work with the Norwegian national team."

Stoeckls assistants Magnus Brevig and Andreas Vilberg will also continue to be members of the coaching staff. Brevig will focus on technology, research, development and the equipment. Vilberg will remain responsible for the jumping suits.
