Local hero Felix Hoffmann won the second competition of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Brotterode (GER) and celebrated his first win in this competition series two years after he made his debut.

The 19-year-old German of the club SWV Goldlauter showed jumps of 113 m and 117.5 m that earned him a total of 239.5 points on the Inselberg-hill. Until today Felix Hoffmann's best result in the COC was a tenth place last December in Vikersund. "Winning the last remaining Ski Jumping competition at home in Thuringia is an incredible feeling", said the happy winner.

With his performance, Hoffmann ended the winning streak of Nejc Dezman, who finished on top three times in a row recently. The Slovene was also in the lead after the first half of Sunday's competition with 112.5 m, with 116 m in the final round he then came in second, only 1.7 points behind the young German.

Daniel Huber was ninth after the first round with his jump of 110 m. But in the final the Austrian had the longest jump of the day with 119 m and moved up to third overall with his total of 236.5 points.

Joakim Aune of Norway missed the podium this time after finishing third on Saturday, but with his fourth place he confirmed his consistently strong shape this weekend.

Jaka Hvala was fifth and the second-best of the Slovenes in this competition. Only 0.1 behind him, Klemens Muranka was the best of the Polish athletes in sixht. Jan Matura was seventh and once again represented the Czech Republic among the day's best jumpers.

Martin Hamann of Germany finished eighth, followed by Miran Zupancic of Slovenia, who lost his overall lead in the COC after the ninth place today. With now 704 points he is second behind his teammate Nejc Dezman (736 points). Austria's Clemens Aigner, who was not competing in Brotterode, remains third with 521 points.

17-year-old German Constantin Schmid, recenlty bronze medalist in the individual competition of the Junior World Championships in Park City, and Russia's Roman Trofimov tied for tenth and completed the Top 10 on Sunday.

The Continental Cup will continue on February 18th and 19th with two competitions in Planica (SLO).
