The FIS Snowboard Alpine Junior World Championships 2020, slated to go down in Lachtal (AUT) from March 27 - April 1, have been cancelled due to regulations imposed by the Austrian authorities over concerns regarding the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the Austrian Ski Federation has decided not to hold any major international events in the future, which complies with the current guidelines of the Austrian government. The decision to call off the JWSC event, along with some other competitions in Austria intends to act in the best interest of sport as well as health and safety of all the athletes and participants.
In light of this, it seems unlikely that a replacement venue can be found at this late stage of the season. However, an announcement will be made at a later date should a solution arise.
