The aerials water ramp competition season officially begins this Saturday, July 12, with the first stop of the Aerials Summer Alps Tour in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland, as part of Freestyle Night 2025.

This new three-stop series brings a clear performance pathway to young athletes and FIS-level competitors during the off-season. Much like the Moguls Alps Tour, which ran during winter, the Aerials Summer Alps Tour offers athletes meaningful opportunities to compete and develop — now during the summer months on water ramps.

Saturday’s event will start with competitions in youth categories for athletes under and over 13 years old, highlighting the next generation of aerialists. Later in the day, the focus shifts to the elite level, with a strong field confirmed. Swiss aerialists Pirmin Werner and Noé Roth will be competing on home soil, joined by international names like Laura Peel from Australia, Lewis Irving from Canada, and Dmytro Kotovskyi from Ukraine.

But Freestyle Night 2025 isn’t just about sport — it’s a full event experience. Alongside the aerials action, visitors can enjoy a diverse side program including skydiving shows, rodeo riding, sponsor booths, food trucks, autograph sessions, and more. As the sun sets, the evening wraps up with a live concert by Swiss artist DODO, followed by an afterparty into the early morning hours.

Following Mettmenstetten, the tour continues at Acrobat Park Štíty in the Czech Republic and Hohenems in Austria, giving athletes more chances to stay sharp and gain experience throughout the summer.

The Aerials Summer Alps Tour also leads into a bigger international series. The FIS Freestyle Summer Grand Prix is making a strong return this year, starting again in Mettmenstetten in mid-August, before heading to Park City in the USA, Brisbane in Australia, and finally Qinhuangdao in China.

With a packed calendar and strong participation across all levels, this summer marks a new chapter for aerials competition.
