Following successful edition in 2025, the FIS Mogul Course Design and Build Clinic will return to Hintertux Glacier, Austria, from 11–15 October 2026, offering course builders, snowcat operators, competition organisers and technical personnel another opportunity to develop the skills required to build world-class mogul and dual mogul courses.

Held immediately after the FIS Technical Delegate Clinic in Innsbruck (9–11 October), the three-day programme will combine classroom sessions with practical on-snow instruction, focusing on the planning, construction and maintenance of world-class mogul and dual mogul courses.

The clinic aims to bring together international expertise and practical experience, creating an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and further improve the quality, consistency and safety of freestyle skiing venues around the world.

This year's programme will cover both Moguls and Dual Moguls, with sessions dedicated to all key aspects of course design and maintenance, including venue layout, course profile, construction planning, mogul separation, jump construction, snowcat operations, traffic flow, course maintenance and athlete safety. Participants will also explore best practices for selecting terrain and positioning jumps to create safe and challenging competition courses.

Leading the 2026 clinic will be Aleš Špan (SLO), one of freestyle skiing's most experienced technical experts. A FIS Technical Delegate for moguls, aerials and park & pipe, Špan has worked across every level of FIS competition and combines decades of experience in coaching, event management and course construction.

A three-time Olympic moguls coach at Torino 2006, Vancouver 2010 and PyeongChang 2018, Špan has also served as a course builder at major international events, including the World Championships Kreischberg 2015 and Bakuriani 2023, the Valmalenco 2023 World Cup, and the Montafon 2027 World Championships test event.

As freestyle skiing continues to evolve, the clinic remains an important platform for sharing best practices and supporting the development of safe, consistent and high-quality training and competition venues across all levels of the sport.

Those interested in attending the clinic are asked to confirm their participation with the FIS Office by 1 September 2026.
