FIS Moguls World Cup event in Shahdag, Azerbaijan, cancelled

Within the framework of their Global Destination Partnership, Azerbaijan and FIS have been preparing to host the FIS Moguls World Cup Finals, planned for March 14–15 at Shahdag Mountain Resort, with the aim of delivering the event at the highest possible international standards.

During the preparation process, it became clear that the current natural and winter conditions are not fully suitable to ensure the quality and competition environment expected for an event of this level. At the same time, certain logistical factors, including limited travel options and temporary capacity constraints at some regional airport hubs, may affect the ease and convenience of travel for athletes and guests.

While Azerbaijan has been fully prepared to host the event, the priority for both Azerbaijan and FIS is to organize the competition under the best possible conditions and provide the highest level of experience for athletes, teams and spectators. Therefore, a joint decision has been made to postpone the organization of the FIS Moguls World Cup Finals in Shahdag to the next winter season.

This decision will allow the organizers to ensure optimal sporting conditions and deliver a world-class event that reflects the ambitions of both Azerbaijan and FIS. Azerbaijan looks forward to welcoming the international winter sports community to Shahdag next season.
