Freestyle Junior Regional Cup wraps up with exciting weekend in Štíty

The 2026 FIS Freestyle Junior Regional Cup came to an exciting conclusion this past weekend at Acrobat Park in Štíty (CZE), where two days of aerials competition brought the summer series to a close in perfect conditions.

Following the opening competition in Mettmenstetten (SUI), the action moved to the Czech Republic for the second and final stop of the series, with competitions held on Saturday and Sunday. With three events on the schedule across the two venues, the Junior Regional Cup once again provided young aerialists with an important opportunity to gain valuable competition experience during the summer water ramp season.

An international field of athletes took part in the series, with competitors representing the host nations Czech Republic and Switzerland, as well as Ukraine, Austria and Finland.

Alongside the FIS Freestyle Junior Regional Cup competitions, a busy weekend at Acrobat Park also featured U13 kids events and Czech Cup competitions, creating two full days of aerials action and giving athletes across different age groups the chance to compete side by side.

Tarhonskyi and Boiarska claim overall titles

With three competitions completed, it was Ukraine’s Mykyta Tarhonskyi and Yelyzaveta Boiarska who finished on top of the overall Junior Regional Cup standings.

In the men’s competition, Tarhonskyi collected 225 points across the series to take the overall victory. Switzerland’s Lino Wernli followed closely behind with 210 points, while his teammate Andrin Laber completed the overall podium in third place with 200 points.

Men’s overall standings:

1. Mykyta Tarhonskyi (UKR) – 225 points

2. Lino Wernli (SUI) – 210 points

3. Andrin Laber (SUI) – 200 points

On the women’s side, Boiarska put together a strong and consistent series to finish comfortably on top of the standings with 260 points.

Home favourite Adéla Merková (CZE) finished the series in second place with 200 points, while Hilaria Lozano (SUI) rounded out the overall top three with 175 points.

Women’s overall standings:

1. Yelyzaveta Boiarska (UKR) – 260 points

2. Adéla Merková (CZE) – 200 points

3. Hilaria Lozano (SUI) – 175 points

The weekend in Štíty provided a fitting conclusion to the Junior Regional Cup, with plenty of impressive jumping and valuable competition experience for the next generation of aerialists.

Summer aerials action continues with the Grand Prix

While the 2026 FIS Freestyle Junior Regional Cup is now officially in the books, the summer water ramp season is far from over.

Attention now turns to the FIS Aerials Summer Grand Prix, with three stops coming up in Mettmenstetten (SUI), Park City (USA) and Qinhuangdao (CHN).

The action gets underway already this coming weekend, with the opening Summer Grand Prix competition in Mettmenstetten set for Sunday, 16 August.

With some of the world’s best aerialists expected to be back in competition mode, there is plenty more summer action still to come before the focus eventually shifts back to snow and the start of the winter season.
